My one-year-old got this for her birthday and it was an instant hit. (We haven’t had any trouble with pinched fingers, so I’m going to have to check that out. I’m having a tough time picturing how that could happen. Poor kiddos!) I like that you can set the piano to play music notes, colors, or solfeggio. Our five-year-old is even enjoying playing all of the songs and practicing her piano skills! I would highly reccommend this toy- it seems a little pricey, but it totally worth it because of all the features!

Our baby loves music and adores this toy. It has lots of buttons, switches and levers to operate, keys to press and “pages” to flip to hear other music. It has teaching modes (numbers, colors, notes), a song playing mode, and a “free play” mode that reproduces musical notes on the keyboard. The toy can reproduce several notes at once, so if you play a bit of piano you can play songs for baby (no “black keys” though) and let him bash along with you with no harm done.
We got the “Baby Grand” when our baby was about six months old, and he still plays with it (though not as much) at a bit over a year old. If you know baby toys at all you know this is a fantastic return on investment. He knows his favorites and returns to them again, and again (and again – you’ll come to know all the songs very well).
The toy is well made, and takes up less space than you would think. The singing is far from the most cloying I’ve heard on children’s toys. The toy is pretty stable on the ground, so baby can pull up on it. Another reviewer mentioned the #4 key sticking, and ours does too, not a huge deal.

My daughter loves this piano! She doesn’t spend 100% of her time playing with it – I know she will grow with it, but she does love the toy. It is very well made and the volume is at a great tone. Not too loud (or obnoxious) and not too low. Great job, Fisher Price!

My son loves this. He will crawl over to it and start playing on the keys. After he plays with the keys, he then eats the keys. Then he pulls himself up to the sun and plays with the sun. After he eats the sun, then he grabs at the other items on the piano. I think I get more fun out of watching him then he does playing/eating the piano.

I bought this for my 18 month old daughter and she loves to sit and play with the piano. She even sings along. My daughter has many Fisher-Price toys that play music that keep her entertained.

I bought this baby grand for my great niece for her first birthday. Once this present was opened and put together, which took about 1 minute, she did not stop playing with it, no matter what other present was opened. Word from my niece is that it has continued to be a hit at home. I highly recommend this toy.

We gave it to her at 6 months for X-mas because she loves to beat on stuff and loves music. 4 months later she still absolutely loves it. She dances to it, bangs on it, uses it to stand and reaches both sides. We love that it has 3 different sounds/learning options, she never gets bored of it! One of the best purchases I have ever made!

I would definitely say that this is one of my daughter’s favorite toys and it has been since she got it months and months ago.
Some of the reviews note that the piano can easily topple over. Well if your kiddo is not good at standing, pulling up to stand, cruising, etc yet, and you can’t be there by their side the whole time, the legs come off. Your kiddo can use it that way. When they become pros at standing, cruising, walking, etc you can put the legs back on and it will not be a problem at all as it is a pretty stable toy.
It is really tons of fun. I’ve seen kids of a wide variety of ages enjoying it. The toy has features built in so everyone from a young infant to an older toddler can enjoy it. I highly recommend it.

We just purchased this for our 9 month old’s first Christmas gift. I’m glad we got it out and tried it out before Christmas eve, because we received one that the last 3 keys on it didn’t work. But Amazon quickly got another one right out to us and provided a great no hassle return for the other.
Our little girl loves this piano!! She is in the pulling up/standing stage right now, and it provides great activity for that as well as she can stand up to it and walk around it with lots of fun things to do!
As a pianist and musician myself, I am very impressed with the variey of activities it offers and concepts being taught that they child won’t even realize she is being “taught”!-such as tempo, pitch, etc.
My 14 year old son even likes to sit and play with it!
I could go on and on about it; so I’ll just conclude with saying how much we like this product and are so glad we got it. We only learned of it after seeing it in a Fisher Price brochure; I have not seen it in a store, so knew I could count on Amazon to have it!

This is one of the best toys I’ve ever seen. I don’t care for most of the newfangled plastic, electronic toys…most of them are junk. This one, however, is well-designed and will entertain a baby as well as even a 5 or 6 year old, in my opinion. I used to teach music at the elementary school level, and I think my kindergarteners and first-graders would have loved it.
The controls are all easy enough to operate that even a 9-month-old (the suggested earliest age) can operate them easily…none of them require too much strength or dexterity, for instance.
It teaches real musical concepts (high vs low, fast vs slow, etc) and has an actual, properly-working piano keyboard. The keys work like a real piano’s does; if I press down 2 or 3 or 4 keys, they will all sound together, and the sound quality is like an actual piano, not a buzzy toy. There are so many different modes (there are three main modes, but when you turn the music “page” it brings up different sub-modes) so there are many different ways to play with this toy. My kid has played with this for 2 months, and I’m still discovering new functions on it.
I like the piano so well that I am pretty vigilant about not letting my baby “pull up” on it…I want the toy still working when he’s 3 or 4.
If you are assembling this for a baby, I would recommend waiting to install the legs until your child is through with the “pulling-up” phase. Durability may be the only weakness of this toy; nothing has broken on mine, but I could see where if an aggressive toddler say, tipped it over and stepped on the music stand part, that might break off or something.
On the whole, though, I LOVE this toy! Music teacher approved!
